Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account or using the KALBI app or website, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use KALBI.

Important medical notice

• KALBI is not an emergency service and does not monitor you continuously. Nobody watches your ECGs in real time.
• A KALBI report is a cardiologist's interpretation of the single ECG you submitted. It is not a full medical examination and cannot rule out every heart condition. A normal report does not mean your heart is healthy in every way.
• KALBI does not replace your own doctor. Share your reports with your healthcare provider and follow their advice about diagnosis and treatment.
• If your symptoms change or get worse after you submit an ECG, do not wait for your report. Contact your doctor or call 911.

Who can use KALBI

You must be at least 18 years old and located in the United States when you submit an ECG. You may submit ECGs only for yourself, or for another adult if you have their permission and legal authority to share their health information.

The service

KALBI is a store-and-forward telecardiology service. You upload an existing ECG image or PDF with your symptoms, and a licensed, board-certified cardiologist reviews it and returns a signed report in the app.

The review creates a clinical relationship limited to the interpretation of the ECG you submitted. The cardiologist does not become your ongoing physician, does not prescribe medication through KALBI, and does not provide treatment.

Your account

• Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
• Keep your login details private and your phone locked. You are responsible for activity on your account.
• Tell us straight away at support@kalbi.us if you think someone else has accessed your account.

Your submissions

For the best review, upload a complete, clear recording and describe your symptoms honestly. The cardiologist relies on what you provide.

If a recording cannot be interpreted, for example because it is too short or too noisy, we will tell you and may ask you to upload a clearer or more complete ECG document.

You keep ownership of your ECGs and personal information. You give KALBI permission to store, process, and share them only as needed to provide the service and as described in our Privacy Policy.

Turnaround times

Most ECGs are reviewed in under 4 hours, and we aim to deliver every report within 24 hours of a complete submission. Times can be longer if a resubmission is needed or during rare service interruptions. Turnaround targets are not a guarantee of medical outcome.

Fees and payment

The price of a review is shown in the app before you submit, and you are charged only when you confirm. Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store and are subject to Apple's terms.

If we cannot deliver your report within 24 hours, or your ECG cannot be interpreted and you choose not to resubmit, contact support@kalbi.us and we will help you request a refund.

Reports

Your reports are stored in the app, and you can download them as PDFs or share them with your doctor. Please do not alter a report. An edited report is no longer the cardiologist's signed interpretation.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload ECGs or information you do not have the right to share.
• Upload false, misleading, or someone else's ECG as your own.
• Harass, threaten, or abuse KALBI staff or clinicians.
• Try to access other people's data, test our security without permission, or disrupt the service.
• Copy, resell, or reverse-engineer the app or website.

Devices and third parties

KALBI accepts existing ECG images and PDF documents for review. It does not connect directly to wearable devices or record an ECG. Third-party services that created your original ECG document operate independently of KALBI.

Intellectual property

The KALBI name, logo, app, website, and their content belong to KALBI and are protected by law. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app and website for their intended purpose. Your reports are yours to keep and share for your own care.

Disclaimers

We work hard to provide an accurate, reliable service, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, KALBI does not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that a review will detect every condition. Nothing in these terms limits any duty of care a clinician owes you under applicable law.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, KALBI is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid KALBI in the 12 months before the claim. Some states do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Indemnity

If you break these terms or the law while using KALBI, and that causes a claim against KALBI, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of that claim.

Suspending or closing an account

You can stop using KALBI and ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. Your signed reports will still be kept as medical records as described in our Privacy Policy.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which KALBI is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before bringing a formal claim, please contact us at support@kalbi.us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top of this page and tell you in the app or by email about significant changes before they take effect. If you keep using KALBI after that, the new terms apply.
